Composition Lessons

What does “learning” composition look like?

  1. Weekly 1-Hour lessons via Zoom or in-person (depending on your location).

  2. Focus will be individualized to your specific needs and where you are on your growth journey.

  3. Lessons will include work on: Orchestration and Arranging, Music Theory, Instrument Groups, Scoring for Various Media, Notation Software, Digital Audio Workstations, Preparing for Publication, Music Business and Marketing, etc.

What do I need to know?

Everyone will come to their study of composition from a different place, so there is no “wrong” answer here. It would be beneficial for prospective students to have:

  1. A basic knowledge of musical elements (keys, time signatures, pitches, rhythms, etc.)

  2. Some basic music theory as relates to scales, chords, etc.

  3. Experience learning and performing as a vocalist or instrumentalist.

What does it cost?

Lessons are $100 for a weekly 55 minute session (zoom or in-person).

How do I sign up?

Step 1 is a 15 minute zoom call with you and at least one parent or guardian so that we can make sure that this is the right thing for you! If accepted, lessons will start the next week!

You can sign up HERE for a “Get to Know You” session, and a zoom link will be e-mailed to you!
